Verses 8-10 “8Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, doth not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she find it?
9And when she hath found it, she calleth her friends and her neighbours together, saying, Rejoice with me; for I have found the piece which I had lost.
10Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.”

We can hardly believe that a woman would call her neighbors in to rejoice with them about finding a coin, but then we think of the value of some coins today.  A one ounce gold coin is worth about $1,700 in today’s market.  A rare copper penny was recently valued at more than $500,000.  When we think of it that way, we can understand why the lady of the house searched so diligently and rejoiced greatly when the coin was found.  One soul is like one coin that is worth a search.  We should at least pay attention as we go through life and be on the alert to be able to win a soul to Christ when we know that there are many (not one only) that are lost.
