Verse 31 “But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
When Jesus said, “Seek ye first the kingdom of God,” He was referring to His own kingdom. Therefore, this is a statement of the deity of Jesus. Unfortunately, the new translations leave the word “God” out of the verse, weakening the doctrine of His deity. This mistake by the new translations is due to inferior manuscripts of their underlying text. The two main manuscripts (Aleph and B) underlying the Critical Text, upon which almost all new English translations are based, disagree with each other in thousands of places. Many of the disagreements are very serious in nature. This is true even though these manuscripts were copied at the same time, by the same people, in the same place. They are not independent witnesses.
