Verses 11-12 “11And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and unto magistrates, and powers, take ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye shall say:
12For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say.”
This promise was given to a specific people (the disciples of Jesus) and for a specific time. However, the promise does have an application to God’s people in every age. If God’s people are being persecuted and are being questioned in an inquisition, the Holy Spirit, who is resident in every believer, will teach those believers how to behave and what to say. We should pray that God will give us the words to say in every situation, especially in a time when we are witnessing to someone about God’s salvation.
