Verses 4-5 “4And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.
5But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.”These verses contain several important doctrinal teachings. First, these verses teach that men ought to have a healthy fear of God. Second, these verses teach that God is all powerful and able to do what men are not able to do. Third, these verses teach that man is more than a body; for he has an immaterial part (the soul and the spirit) which live on after the body is destroyed. And fourth, these verses teach that there is a hell, a place of everlasting punishment to be feared by all unsaved people. Two little verses can teach us a lot! Additionally, these verses teach us that we should not fear men because the worst that they can do is kill us. If they kill us, we will land in heaven. And that is nothing to fear.
