Verses 42-48 “42 But as he went the people thronged him.
And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any,
Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched.
And Jesus said, Who touched me? When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?
And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me.
And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately.
And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace.”The woman had had a wretched condition for 12 long years, 12 years of going to doctors and finding no help, 12 years of being considered “unclean,” 12 years of unhappiness and despair.  The description sounds a lot like that of an unsaved person, does it not?  We too are miserable, hopeless, and unclean until we are forgiven by Jesus.  She sneaked up to touch the edge of Jesus garment, hoping to avoid the embarrassment that the public exposure of her illness would cause.  She thought, “If I can only touch the hem of His garment, His power will heal me of this awful affliction.”  She was right!  And her faith saved her.  But Jesus asked who touched Him.  He asked this not because He did not know the answer, but because He wanted the woman’s cure to be known by all–it would put an end to people thinking her unclean.  And should not those who have been saved by the Lord speak forth His praise?
