MARK, Chapter 15
Verse 28 “And the scripture was fulfilled, which saith, And he was numbered with the transgressors.”
Many new English versions omit verse 28. This is a mistake since the verse is in the best manuscripts. Of course, it is a matter of opinion as to which manuscripts are the best. Scholars do not agree about it, but most manuscripts of this chapter have the verse and it is evident that God has preserved it. The verse upholds the accuracy and inspiration of Holy Scripture and is important to a study of how Old Testament prophecy concerning the Lord Jesus was fulfilled. Jesus was treated like the lowest of the low in this world, a felon, a villain, and an outlaw. It was all prophesied in the Old Testament and was fulfilled to the finest detail.
