Verse 14 “But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:”

The abomination of desolation was predicted in Daniel 9:27; 11:31, and 12:11. The outrageous and blasphemous killing of a pig on the temple altar, in the days of Antichus Epiphanes (160 BC), was only a fore-view of the real abomination of desolation. The actual abomination of desolation awaits that time when the Antichrist will defile the rebuilt temple of God, during the tribulation period. That abomination will consist of the Antichrist going into the temple and demanding worship for himself, declaring that he is God. All of this is predicted in Matthew 24:15, II Thessalonians 2:4, and Revelation 13. We are told that we should understand these things. Many people have grown accustomed to worshiping a human idol, which is an indicator that the time is coming, perhaps soon, when the whole world will worship Antichrist, a devil empowered super man.
