Verses 1-2 “1And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
2See, I have called by name Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah:”Bezaleel was chosen by God to do extremely important work. Many are called, but few are chosen to do the most sacred work. The chosen must be willing to do God’s work as God has prepared them to do. Every believer is gifted to serve God in a particular way. Verses 3 and4 in this passage say, “And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship, To devise cunning works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass.” So, Bezaleel could invent. He knew how to follow directions. He could interpret his own past experiences and apply the knowledge to his work. And we note that all of these abilities came from the Holy Spirit. God the Holy Spirit sovereignly gives to each believer the gifts that he needs to do the work that God wants him to do. When God calls workmen, He equips them for the work.
