Verse 1 “And take thou unto thee Aaron thy brother, and his sons with him, from among the children of Israel, that he may minister unto me in the priest’s office, even Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar, Aaron’s sons.”

The Aaronic priesthood was a type of Christ. An effective priest had to be one who was taken from among the children of Israel. Jesus became a real human person at his incarnation so that He would be one of us. As one of us, He could represent us to God. He was tempted as we are; he was lonely, hurt, misunderstood, angered, shunned, abused, and laughed at as we are. He is the perfect priest. The Bible says, “For every high priest taken from among men is ordained for men in things pertaining to God, that He may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins: who can have compassion on the ignorant, and on them that are out of the way; for that He Himself also is compassed with infirmity” (Heb. 5:1-2). And again, “For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens” (Heb. 7:26).
