Matthew 14:15-16 “And when it was evening, his disciples came to him, saying, This is a desert place, and the time is now past; send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves victuals. But Jesus said unto them, They need not depart; give ye them to eat.”
Those who have nothing to offer needy souls will usually say, “Send them away!” But Jesus says to us and to all who are hungry for God, “They need not depart.” There is spiritual nourishment for the taking in the Word of God. It is all we need. It is bread, milk, strong meat, and honey. Not only the Christian, but even lost souls need the nourishment that God alone gives through His Word. There can be no life without the Bread of Life. “How sweet are thy words unto my taste” (Psalm 119:103). “O taste and see that the Lord is good” (Psalm 34:8).
