Verse 2 “Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil; neither shalt thou speak in a cause to decline after many to wrest judgment:”
The message here is that we should not follow the crowd, just because it is popular. The majority is not always right. There is even a danger that a well meaning person could go into court and bow (“decline”) before popular opinion (“after many”) and testify to something just because it is popular. In most cases, if we find out which way the world is going and go the other way, we will then be going God’s way.
