Matthew 8:2-4  “And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.
And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.
And Jesus saith unto him, See thou tell no man; but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.”
Jesus cleansed lepers, and that was a type of Him saving sinners.  Leprosy is an almost perfect type of sin because it is dirty, loathsome, incurable (by men), and causes separation. The leper was virtually dead and shunned by all.  However, Jesus came near and touched the leper, and He still comes near the sinner and touches him, making the sinner clean, even though the sinner is repugnant to God. What a wonderful Savior is He!
