Verses 32-36 “32And Moses said, This is the thing which the LORD commandeth, Fill an omer of it to be kept for your generations; that they may see the bread wherewith I have fed you in the wilderness, when I brought you forth from the land of Egypt.
33And Moses said unto Aaron, Take a pot, and put an omer full of manna therein, and lay it up before the LORD, to be kept for your generations.
34As the LORD commanded Moses, so Aaron laid it up before the Testimony, to be kept.
35And the children of Israel did eat manna forty years, until they came to a land inhabited; they did eat manna, until they came unto the borders of the land of Canaan.
36Now an omer is the tenth part of an ephah.”

The Israelites received the manna from God during forty years of wilderness wandering. Such a wonderful miraculous provision was worth remembering. God gave reminders of some of His greatest works. For example, the Sabbath reminds us of God’s creation. Twelve stones from the Jordan formed a memorial to remind the children of the miraculous crossing (Josh. 4: 1-8). And the Lord”s Supper was given to remind us and our children of the work of the Lord Jesus on Calvary’s cross. Here an omer (about three quarts) of manna would remind future generations of God’s provision. The pot of manna was kept in the ark of the covenant. LORD, help me to remember today the great things thou hast done!
