Verses 26 and 27 “26And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee.
27And they came to Elim, where were twelve wells of water, and threescore and ten palm trees: and they encamped there by the waters.”

Even when we are in a perfect relationship with the LORD, we will not always be blessed with such an idyllic situation. Here we can almost hear the balmy southern breezes blowing in the leaves of the palm trees! But God has not promised us twelve wells of water and seventy palm trees– at least, He has not said that we will have that all the time. What He does teach us here is that obedience to Him is a much more healthful way to live. At least one thing is better than being healed, and that is not getting sick in the first place!
