Verses21-22 “21And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night:
22He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people.”

God gave a cloud and a pillar of fire. This was the shekinah glory of God. It was given to remind the Hebrews that God was with them, and it was given for guidance. We have something better than a cloudy pillar of fire; we have the Word of God to remind us that God is with us and that He will guide us through the uncertain days ahead. His Word says to us, “Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. For I am the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel” (Is.43:1-3). And again His Word tells us that He will guide our steps “that ye may know the way by which ye must go: for ye have not passed this way heretofore” (Joshua 3:4). The future is worrisome and uncertain, but we should take hope because where Jesus is ’tis glory there.
