Matthew 3:7-8 “But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come? Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:”
John required personal conversion with evidence of repentance before baptism as did our Lord’s Apostles. This means that repentance is necessary for salvation, since conversion must precede baptism. It also means that no babies were baptized by John or the Apostles. We are on solid scriptural ground when we take this same stand.
