8Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron, and said, Intreat the LORD, that he may take away the frogs from me, and from my people; and I will let the people go, that they may do sacrifice unto the LORD.
9And Moses said unto Pharaoh, Glory over me: when shall I intreat for thee, and for thy servants, and for thy people, to destroy the frogs from thee and thy houses, that they may remain in the river only?
10And he said, To morrow. And he said, Be it according to thy word: that thou mayest know that there is none like unto the LORD our God.”
Aren’t people strange? When the second plague, that of the frogs, came upon Egypt, and the whole country and everything in the Egyptian’s houses was covered with frogs, what did Pharaoh’s magicians do?! They made more frogs! Just what Egypt needed! This shows the brilliance (?) of this world’s worldly wise men.
Another strange thing; when Pharaoh had another opportunity to repent, he said, “Give me one more night with the frogs.” This is typical of those who procrastinate about getting saved. When they could be saved, forgiven of all of that filth, and delivered from the terrible penalty, they often say, “Give me a little more time with my sin.”
As Shakespeare said “It is passing strange and pitiful.”
